Directors at Dyer Engineering have joined business leaders throughout the region in signing an open letter calling for Britain to stay in the EU.

The letter, written by business leaders covering a wide range of industries,  outlines the importance of EU membership in driving economic development of the local economy stating that  EU membership provides unrestricted access to the European market of 500m and leaving would deter investment, threaten jobs and put the North East economy at risk.

Graeme Parkins (MD) and Richard Bradley (FD) of Dyer Engineering joined the list of 58 business leaders representing business agencies and companies such as Ford Engineering Group, NIFCO  and Sevcon  to express their concern that the uncertainty caused by a Brexit would create an immediate negative impact on our local economy and  give competitor’s businesses in remaining  EU countries the advantage.

Adding voice to the major unions, business organisations, manufacturers, local government leaders and major party leaders showing support for the UK to remain a member of the European Union the open letter comes after a poll of people attending the North East Business Awards last week put support for staying in the EU at 74% compared to 20% who wanted to leave and 6% undecided
